If you call this toll free number – 1-877-3-AFLCIO (1-877-323-5246) – you can “urge your representative to support working families by voting for health care reform that: Does NOT tax our health care benefits; Requires employers to pay their fair share; and Reduces health care costs—the best way to do this is with a public health insurance option.”
This is a wise course of action whether you belong to a union or not. The tax is both unfair and badly designed, which means it should be scrapped. And it’s likely to affect far more non-union families that union families. It’s not just a labor issue – it’s a national issue.
